fracyured left shoulder ina fall Sept 7 (just on my way out and at home naturally) Tile wet and slick as ice. Down I went, took an hour to get up- greyhounds are not very helpful cute but not helpful!!

Found this interesting, and hope I recover fast - I am nearly 70 and feel 25. The shock comes when I look in the mirror!! ;)

Thanks

Kathy, I am reading your blog today for the information I skipped the last reading. The ER doctor had said my "bones were cornflakes" so I thought I was being released to non-surgical healing, on my own. Friends and family encouraged me to see a shoulder specialist for a second opinion. A week ago, I saw him and four days later he squeezed me in for surgery, nearly two weeks after my fall. He installed a plate which he will not remove and the rotator cuff is holding the shoulder together sort of like an internal cast. That is held with sinew which will dissolve. My personal battles revolve around the balance of too little vs. too much pain meds. Last night I had the pain block drip removed and I struggled.Today, three days after the surgery, I am just now beginning to get it right, to stay ahead of the pain, and to eat, finally. Thanks to all your readers' suggestions. Jinx

Do you mean when I was diagnosed with osteoporosis or with the factured shoulder? I was 51 when I was diagnosed with osteoporosis. I broke my shoulder in a bike accident when I was 54.
