During my appointment with Dr. Rogers this past Wednesday (8/29/07), I got to see my blood in action once again–up close and personal. Dr. Rogers’ dark field microscope viewer displayed the active blood at 6000X magnification. Much improvement was noted in the number of healthy, well-shaped red blood cells, as well as the number of free, “unstuck” cells. There was much less lipid peroxidation (biological rust) on any of the cells. Manifestations of yeast were also reduced.
However, Dr. Rogers said my blood was still not good enough. He noted some protein stuck to some of the cells, which means I am still not digesting all of the protein I eat. Remedy: More chewing! Also, I am to take Zymepro two hours after eating, so that Zymepro’s digestive enzymes will digest whatever I didn’t digest on my own. In addition, he still noted evidence of lymph congestion–that is, congestion of the fluids surrounding the cells. Remedy: Rebounding! Yup. Jumping 30 minutes everyday on a mini-trampoline. Believe me, that’s a lot of jumping! He says 30 minutes of rebounding works miracles in cleaning out the body’s lymphatic system. Well, I can’t do that much rebounding all at once, so I’m working to spread it out through the day. Finally, he recommended I put more oxygen in my blood by making a conscious effort to breathe more deeply and increase aerobic exercise.
All in all, it was good news. My weight is now 110, down from 142. I have many more healthy, free-moving red blood cells. “Continue the course,” Dr. Rogers said. He will see me again December 26th. But first, in November, he wants me to get my yearly Dexascan. I’m excited at the prospect, but nervous. I really hope my bone mass has increased. We’ll know in just three months!
Oh, and by the way, Dr. Rogers recommended another book for me to read. This one is entitled, The Metabolic Plan by Stephen Cherniske, M.S. Here’s what the back cover says: “Longer life, more energy, improved health, a pervasive sense of well-being: It’s all within our grasp. At once revolutionary and eminently practical, this is the book that finally solves the puzzle of aging.” Dr. Rogers said it is so good that he stayed up half the night reading it. I just bought it, and I can hardly wait to get started!
