skeletonWhen I was diagnosed with severe osteoporosis at the age of 52, the nurse practioner urged me to take Fosamax. She said I was in danger of fractures at any moment. Shaken, I went home and researched the benefits and side effects of Fosamax, and I refused the treatment. Instead, I opted to see a naturopathic physician, Dr. Steven D’Antonio.

Using computer (LSA) technology, Dr. D’Antonio pinpointed nutritional deficits and prescribed supplements that improved my physical health and emotional outlook. I felt better and slept better than before.  He also suggested that I switch to an alkaline diet, but when I read the alkaline cookbooks on bookstore shelves, the recipes didn’t appeal to me.  I made some changes in my diet, such as giving up Diet Coke, but not much else.

However, my next yearly Dexascan revealed that the osteoporosis had worsened. Desolate and desperate, I prepared to leave my position as a middle school math teacher and decided, against my better judgment, to take Fosamax. It was then that a colleague of mine at school told me about Dr. Robert Rogers, an M.D. in Longwood, Florida, who had literally saved his life.  What I learned from Dr. Rogers about the effect of diet on the body set my life in a new direction!  Continuing to work with both Dr. D’Antonio and Dr. Rogers, I lost 30 pounds in 5 months, weighing 112 (down from 142). I feel wonderful, peaceful, healthy, and strong.

I want to share with you what I have learned so that you, too, may enjoy good health and live in peace! For more information, including menus, recipes, medical information, and inspirational reflections, please visit www.OsteoDiet.com.
